Learning Journey Programme

This programme is an outdoor interactive learning activity for school children and seniors. RSVP volunteers act as guides to take them through the learning journey.

They get to share about the history of the place and pass down values such as how to love the environment.

The students are then asked to complete a simple workbook to gauge what they have observed and learnt. Some problem-solving questions are incorporated within the learning. The learning component is just as interactive and fun for the seniors.

By participating as guides, the seniors gets involved in lifelong learning and active ageing as well as intergenerational integration with the students. The children learn what makes Singapore tick, how we got to where we are today and how they can play a part. It instills pride in Singapore's achievements. They get to understand the country's history and learn to love the environment.

To be a guide, volunteers must have the ability to lead and have sufficient knowledge of the place of visit. Volunteers will go through training.
