Mentoring Programme

Since its inception in 1998, RSVP Singapore’s Mentoring Programme has been a cornerstone of support for selected school students, bridging educational and socio-emotional gaps to empower children in need. Guided by the belief that while not all children start on equal footing, every child deserves the opportunity to thrive, the programme has become a trusted resource in shaping young lives. 

At the heart of the Mentoring Programme are RSVP Volunteers, who serve as invaluable role models, drawing upon their life experiences to provide both learning guidance and emotional support. Beyond academics, mentors equip children with practical life skills, helping them navigate challenges and develop confidence in a supportive environment. 

In collaboration with the Ministry of Education, RSVP Singapore has expanded the programme to include the Numeracy Enrichment Programme, offering targeted support to students struggling with mathematics, particularly those with socio-emotional needs and Math anxiety. These after-school initiatives, anchored in primary schools across Singapore, provide structured mentorship to help students build resilience and self-belief. 

The Mentoring Programme is not just about empowering students; it also offers RSVP’s senior volunteers the opportunity to play a transformative role in the community. By sharing their wealth of knowledge, empathy, and time, senior mentors foster intergenerational learning and contribute to the personal and academic growth of the next generation while gaining a renewed sense of purpose and fulfilment.
