RSVP Volunteer of the Year 2012
Volunteering with RSVP since 2005

I first started volunteering with RSVP in 2007 in the Changi Senior Ambassador programme. I was attracted to the programme because of the unique opportunity to work at the airport. It was an interesting experience and I truly enjoyed my three years with this programme meeting people from all walks of life.

Subsequently I joined the Senior Guiding programme. Currently I guide at URA City Gallery, KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital and Science Centre Singapore. I spend about 4 times a week on my guiding duties. Each session is between 3 to 4 hours. I also help out in RSVP’s administrative duties when required.

In my free time, I also do volunteer work with Lions Befrienders by doing home visits and assisting occasionally in outdoor activities.

When the Changi Service Ambassador Programme (CSA) was relaunched in August 2013, I immediately signed on. Through volunteering as a guide, I had the chance to meet people from all walks of life. I have made a lot of friends and have learnt a lot along the way. Volunteering has also helped to keep my mind active. I enjoy helping others in need. Seeing them happy makes me feel happy too.
